Environment: Serbia studying recycling-for-profit system
ANSA Med - Agency for environment protection will start with PET cans.
Serbia is scheduled to discuss a system to grant benefits in cash or services to those who recycle waste, said the director of the Serbian agency for environmental protection (Sepa), Filip Radovic.
''We are working on a study - he was quoted as saying by Beta news agency - to determine which type of materials to collect, providing benefits to those who throw them out in specific sites''.
The study will be used for a law that should initially reward those who recycle PET cans and packaging and will also determine the benefits that will be granted by the State to those who collect and deposit garbage in the appropriate manner.
